About Dive Easy

Dive Easy is a boutique PADI® scuba diving training center based in Mauritius. We specialize in private, empathetic instruction for individuals and families who may feel excluded by traditional, high-volume dive centers.

Our mission is to make scuba diving accessible to everyone—including older adults, people with anxiety, body image concerns, or learning differences. We believe that diving should be a joyful, safe, and supportive experience, free from any pressure or judgment.

With decades of experience and a focus on personalized pacing, we offer a safe and supportive gateway to the underwater world, helping you overcome fears and discover the joy of diving at your own pace.

Who We Serve

We've created a space where everyone feels welcome and supported.

Families

Parents want their children to be in good hands, and families seek memorable, shared experiences. We offer flexible, family-friendly unrushed packages with patient, multi-generational instruction to ensure a safe and memorable time for everyone.

Older Adults

Comfort and personal attention are key for older learners. Our boutique, low-volume model offers a calm, respectful environment where you can learn at your own pace and fulfill a lifelong dream.

Nervous First-Timers

We understand the fear of the unknown. Our instructors provide private, slow-paced sessions and non-judgmental coaching to help you overcome anxiety and discover the joy of breathing underwater.

Individuals with Body Conscious Sensitivities

We provide a private, judgment-free environment where you can feel seen and respected without fear of exposure. We highlight the liberating, weightless nature of water and offer flexible gear options in all sizes and private changing areas.

Private Villa Guests

For guests staying in private villas with their own swimming pools, DiveEasy offers an exclusively private scuba experience. We bring all the necessary equipment and learning materials so you can enjoy your Discover Scuba Diving or Open Water Course (cw) right at your villa.

Juniors (8 Years and Older)

Dive Easy welcomes young adventurers aged 8+, with safe, engaging introductions to the underwater world with Bubblemaker and Skin Diver sessions — playful, shallow, and confidence-building.

Juniors (10 Years and Older)

From age 10, juniors can try Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) in calm, shallow water (pool or sheltered bay) under close instructor supervision. Our Junior Open Water course enables juniors to progress at their own pace in small, supportive groups — or one-to-one if preferred.

Private Guided Fun Dives

For certified divers visiting Mauritius, Dive Easy offers private one-on-one guided fun dives — relaxed, unhurried explorations of our favourite northern reefs and wrecks. It’s a calm, safe, and deeply personal way to experience the ocean — just you and your instructor at your own pace.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I too old to start scuba diving?

+

Not at all! At Dive Easy, we specialize in teaching scuba diving to seasoned individuals. We tailor our approach to your pace, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident. Many of our students start diving later in life, and we’ve even trained an 89-year-old to snorkel!

How long does it take to get certified?

+

Our PADI® Open Water certification typically takes 3-4 days to complete, depending on your pace and comfort level. We can arrange flexible schedules to suit your needs and make sure you are fully prepared before certification.

I am nervous about diving, how can you help?

+

We understand that diving can feel intimidating, especially for beginners or those who are anxious about the water. Our experienced instructors, Russel and Rose, use proven methods to help nervous divers overcome their fears, starting with shallow water exercises and gradual progression to open water, all at a pace you’re comfortable with.

Do I need to be physically fit to scuba dive?

+

Scuba diving does require a moderate level of physical fitness, but it is not as strenuous as many think. As long as you're reasonably healthy and mobile, you should be able to enjoy diving. We’ll discuss any health concerns in advance to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for you.

Is scuba diving safe?

+

Yes, scuba diving is a safe activity when done under proper guidance. Our instructors, Russel and Rose are PADI® certified and experienced in teaching divers of all levels. We follow strict safety protocols to ensure every dive is conducted safely and comfortably.

What equipment will I need?

+

We provide all the necessary scuba diving equipment, including wetsuits, masks, fins, regulators, and tanks. If you have your own equipment, you’re welcome to bring it along. We ensure that everything is properly fitted and safe for use before each dive.

What if I have never been diving before?

+

No prior experience is required! Our beginner courses are designed for first-time divers. We start with basic skills in shallow water before moving to deeper dives. You will learn everything you need to know to dive confidently and safely.

What is the minimum age for learning to dive?

+

While our focus is on seasoned adults, PADI® allows children as young as 10 years old to learn to dive. If you are interested in a family diving experience, we can accommodate younger participants as well.

Why Is Scuba Diving Ideal for Older Adults?

+

Beyond all else, scuba diving offers a sensation of weightlessness, freedom, and adventure. It can be a fantastic means of remaining active and social for seniors. Besides being a great form of exercise, scuba diving also improves mental health by reducing stress and promoting relaxation.

Am I Too Old To Learn To Dive?

+

One of the most frequently asked questions is whether seniors may be too old to learn to scuba dive. The brief response is no. There is no upper age limit for scuba diving. Many seniors finish the PADI® Open Water Diver course and enjoy diving for years. We can accommodate individuals with different learning styles and abilities, improving their skills at a comfortable pace.

What Is the Maximum Age for Learning To Scuba Dive?

+

There is no maximum age limit for learning to scuba dive. However, the first consideration before signing up for a scuba diving course should be your general fitness and health. Students older than 45 years old, or those with major medical conditions, are recommended to undergo risk assessment with a medical professional. You can download the Diver Medical Form to take to your doctor.

Can a 60-Year-Old Scuba Dive?

+

Absolutely! Many 60-year-olds and those older than 60 pick up scuba diving and excel at it! The secret is following safety rules and paying attention to your body. With the correct attitude and equipment, scuba diving is a rewarding sport seniors can enjoy for years.

Do you offer snorkeling lessons?

+

Yes, we offer snorkeling lessons for those who prefer staying at the surface. It is a great way to explore the underwater world if you are not ready to dive. We also provide guided snorkeling tours tailored for older adults or anyone seeking a relaxed experience.

How deep will we dive?

+

As a beginner, you will start with shallow dives of around 3-5 meters. Once you feel comfortable, our certification dives will take you to a maximum of 18 meters, which is the limit for PADI® Open Water divers.

What is included in the cost of your courses?

+

Our courses include all training materials, equipment rental, instruction, and certification fees. We also offer optional add-ons like underwater photography or private boat charters for a more personalized experience.

What should I bring to my diving session?

+

Bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a sense of adventure! Everything else, including dive gear, is provided. If you have any medical conditions, please bring relevant paperwork if needed.

Where are you located, and where will the dives take place?

+

We are based in the North of Mauritius, near Grand Baie, and our dives typically take place in the beautiful lagoons and reefs around the island. We will choose dive spots based on your experience and comfort level.

Can I dive if I wear glasses?

+

Yes! Many divers who wear glasses use prescription dive masks. Alternately, wearing contact lenses is also an option, so you can see clearly underwater.

How do I book a session?

+

You can book a session through our website, by phone, by WhatsApp or by email. If you have any questions before booking, feel free to reach out—we are happy to help you plan your perfect diving experience!
